Stocksbridge Town Council is split into four Wards and served by eight Councillors, two per Ward. Details below. The Town Council area lies within the Sheffield City Council Ward called Stocksbridge and Upper Don. The City Council Ward is served by three City Councillors – Mark Whittaker, John Booker and John Hesketh.

All eight Councillors are unpaid, but the Town Council employs a part-time Clerk/Finance Officer, a part-time Assistant to the Clerk, and a part-time cleaner.

Mayor/Chair and Deputy Mayor/Chair

At the Annual Meeting of the Town Council held on 12th May 2026, Cllr. Richard Crowther was elected as Mayor/Chair and will remain in office until the next Annual Meeting in May 2027.

At the Meeting of the Town Council held on 12th May 2026, Cllr. Julie Grocutt was elected as Deputy Mayor/Chair and will remain in office until the next Annual Meeting in May 2027.
